Photographs collected by Samuel James Henderson, private with Company A of the 32nd Mass. Volunteer Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. Most of the photographs are carte de visite portraits of members of the regiment, including Samuel James Henderson; there is also one tintype portrait of his brother, Hiram Willey Henderson, who served with the 30th Maine Infantry Regiment. Photographers include Edward L. Allen and Miller & Rowell of Boston, Mass., Lemuel Wallace Cook of Weymouth, Mass., and Henry J. Reed of Worcester, Mass., among others.
